Spring Hoof Beat

Happy Spring!

Wow! What an early spring we've had! As days get warmer and the sun stays a little longer, we're getting more and more anxious for the start of our horse show season. We're taking time as board members, riders, and individuals to set new goals and ambitions for the upcoming year and we are looking forward to kicking off a wonderful show season with you all. In January, we welcomed several new board members and are feeling re-energized and ready to get to work serving our Alaskan horse community.

We started off our calendar year with a wonderful strong turnout to our annual Spring Forum and Tack Swap. It was exciting to get our horse community together to talk about the upcoming season, new opportunities and visioning for our organization. We hope to continue these conversations this year as we start a strategic planning process to determine the role and vision of ASH going on in to the future. Please feel free to reach out if you have ideas or would like to join our conversation.

Thank you for your continued support and we'll see everyone very shortly! Until then, give your ponies a big hug and an extra mint or two as we excitedly wait to enter our favorite season!

Cheers!

Proposed Rule Change - Green Hunter Division

Attention ASH Members:  The Alaska State Horseshows Board has proposed an emergency rule change so that our own ASH rules comply with the newly adopted USEF rules for the Green Hunter Division.  Please respond with any questions either to a board member or via email to ash.president@gmail.com.  We will be calling for a vote of all board members regarding this rule change on May 10th, 2017.  Please let us know if there is a concern prior to that time.  The rule change is stated as follows:

  • The current ASH verbiage for Green Working Hunter will changed to match the USEF/USHJA rule change and will be listed as follows:  Green Hunter 3', 3'3", 3'6", 3'9"

If you would like more information about this topic, please contact ASH BOARD MEMBERS or email at ash.president@gmail.com
